Always use the Freeads inbox for messaging
Don't take your conversation outside of Freeads into email or Whatsapp if you haven't already met the advertiser. An advertiser can send photo's and videos via Freeads with ease, so there is no need for them to insist on external communication.
Meeting the seller face to face
Don't give out your personal details and always try to meet the advertiser at their address to complete a purchase. If you are traveling, go with a friend or let someone know where you are going.
Paying for an item
Don't pay before you have viewed an item and made sure it is as advertised. We would suggest using a bank transfer at the door, on collection or on accepting delivery instead of carrying large sums of money with you.
What happens if something goes wrong after I bought through Freeads?
Get in touch with the seller. Normally there is a genuine misunderstanding and the seller will be eager to help you to resolve the situation. If you can't get a satisfactory resolution, email us at freeads@freeads.co.uk and tell us what happened, and we will see if we can help.
General tips:
Always do your research; check the V5 and MOT history of vehicles, the IMEI or serial numbers of phones and electronic goods and ask all the relevant questions prior to committing to any purchase. If it sounds too good to be true or you just aren't sure, find another advertiser and try again.
